Slightly Stoopid
Interview with Rymo
OC:How was the Blazed and Confused tour with Snoop?
Rymo: Amazing! we had a ball with Snoop, Stephen Marley and Mickey Avalon. Lots of great shows… Our biggest to date as headliner and co-headliner.
OC: Stoopid’s success is purely made through grass roots, underground multimedia avenues, etc… what was it like telling each other, damn we need to book a bigger club?!?!
Rymo: It never stops. It’s exciting to see the growth and know that our hard work has paid off tremendously. We are going to continue doing what we do, our way.
OC: Every town has a different vibe, what’s the most memorable?
Rymo: Well, there are memorable towns for good and bad reasons, I’m an optimist and go in to each new place with an open mind and a smile. I have a lot of fave cities. Basically, anywhere on the coasts and several places within.
OC: How nice is it in having such a loyal following. I was at the Autism Benefit show at the Belly Up, the fans are def “one love” when it comes to you guys.
Rymo: It feels great, we appreciate the support of our fans. Sometimes they are totally wired and nuts, and others more relaxed and cruising.
OC: Is there a winter tour coming up?
Rymo: Yes, there’s always another tour coming up…we never take much time off. We will be heading out in November, doing 2 weeks to NYC then flying to Amsterdam for the Cannabis Cup. We are performing there and hanging out for a few days, I mean DAZE…
OC: Debuting on the Billboard Charts at # 55 and scoring # 2 on the indie charts is proof that Stoopid has shown up, I’m sure there was some blood sweat and tears. What keeps you guys going?
Rymo: MUSIC. Music keeps us going. We are all music nerds, always listening to different stuff and trying to progress and keep things fun.
OC: Do you Surf, Skate, Fish? What’s off the road like and do you try to take advantage of it?
Rymo: Yes. I surf pretty much daily when not on the road. Several of the guys grew up surfing and skating tons. When we are off, everyone goes in there own direction which is necessary, due to the amount of time we spend traveling.
OC: What’s on the schedule for 2010?
Rymo: A new record and tons more touring. What else?
