Recently having a cancerous tumor surgically removed, skateboarding legend David Hackett was faced with having to deal with not only recovering physically but having to deal with thousand of dollars in un for seen medical expenses.

Thanks to the help of the Grind for Life organization, all of Hackett's good friends, and the greater skateboard community a fund raising benefit was put together to help Hackett recover financially.

The benefit was held at the Mission Valley YMCA skatepark where a massive turnout of top pros, industry, and skateboard fans came out to show their support and see some of the best skating of the year. A death race event, high air contest, and live music poolside made for a memorable day.

With the help of Ocean Current, team rider Aaron Astorga, an old friend of Hackett was stoked to be able help support David in his battle back to health and prosperity.
