Kaikea started surfing at the ripe old age of two years and won the first contest he ever entered at Pinetrees in Hanalei at age 6. Born and raised on the island of Kauai he's grown up surfing with some of the worlds best and has carved out his place among the islands finest. Kaikea is also known to his friends and many pro surfers as "Joe Dirt", a nickname Bruce and Andy Irons gave him when he was in 3rd grade. The Irons Brothers also gave Kaikea a round trip ticket to Nationals (NSSA) at age 9 after participating in their annual contest. Andy Irons was always a good friend and he names him as a huge inspiration to his surfing.
Kaikea is a very well rounded individual who video edits, writes, tow surfs, scuba dives, and fishes, he enjoys pretty much everything to do with the ocean. For the past 3 winter surf seasons Kaikea has been lucky enough to stay with Jamie O'Brien right on the beach at Pipeline surfing, diving, fishing and developing his skills as a waterman. Kaikea has recently turned his eyes on traveling the world so he can surf the best waves and gather footage to blow minds. Watch for this grom in lineups worldwide!
